A workshop series focusing on radical self-care through yoga asana practice and how it augments other key areas of wellness:

Each class consists of 45 minutes of gentle yoga and 45 minutes combined with nutrition practices, stress relief techniques, methodology for bringing more awareness and self care into every day. Workshop prices include yoga/ discussion talks/ handouts/ samples.

A Yoga Mat is needed for this workshop.

Tai chi with Jesse Shadoun

Tai Chi Chuan is a Chinese internal martial art based on Taoist Yin-Yang philosophy and the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Its soft, flowing movements gently heal the body and mind and foster awareness, relaxation and connection to the universe. Tai Chi will strengthen your muscles, bones, tendons and ligaments, improve your breath capacity and balance, and massage the internal organs. Tai Chi also helps to gather chi, the energy of life, and clears its pathways in the body.

Medical Qigong for Health and Fitness
With Paul Bloom

Qigong (qi=energy; gong=movement) is the ancient chinese art and science of breath and movement exercises which move the qi to strengthen the internal organs and nourish the body, mind and spirit. Practicing qigong can increase energy, relieve stress, detoxify the body and calm the mind. with regular practice, it can prevent illness, overcome many health issues, and help to regain a youthful vigor. This practice is appropriate for people of all levels of health and experience.

YOUNG ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE TRAINING

YAPT
is a six week strength and conditioning program for boy/girl athletes ages 14-18. The goal is to physically prepare the athlete for the winter sports season.

Emphasis will be placed on improving:
first step quickness, strength, agility and balance, through research based training methods.

In addition, each participant will receive:
● Functional Movement Screening
● Core and Back Stability training
● ACL Injury Prevention and Jump Training
● 2 (60-75 min) strength training sessions per week
● Access to IXL Fitness 7 days/week during the length of the program.

IXL TeamFit Academy
Being and staying fit should be a life long commitment.
TeamFit Academy is about conditioning our youth to get a jump start on that goal. We want to provide that competitive edge.

6 week sessions run consecutively year round with a one week break between sessions.
Ages 12-15.

The Process and Final Objective
TeamFit tailors its exercise program to develop basic functional skills, and to educate each participant on the best training techniques needed to reach their particular fitness goals. Exercises are designed to strengthen; build stamina; increase endurance; enhance flexibility; stimulate muscle growth to burn fat; trim and firm - whether for the aspiring athlete or for those wanting to be fit and healthier individuals. We use the latest equipment available: Cybex machines; free weights; elastic bands; stability balls; and various other equipment needed to develop a stronger core system.
